  Homework
Section 10.1 Reactions and Equations
  1. 1/31/2017 Cornell Notes - Ch 10.1 p. 278-279 1/2 page (2 pts)
  2. 1/31/2017 p. 279 1,2,3 (3 points)
  3. 2/1/2017 VIDEO LINK - If this doesn't make sense to you, see my video from last year to help with your understanding.
  4. 2/2/2017 Zum p. 175 41 (a-h), 42 (a-h) - follow direction on the sheet we used in class. You can reprint this paper by going to this PDF link.
  5. 2/1/2017 p. 304 71 (a,b,c) 72 (a,b,c) - write word, skeleton, & balanced eqns. as we did in class today.
  6. 2/1/2017 LINK - Ions & Acids to Memorize - today's handout
  7. 2/3/2017 Balance the first 10 equations from this link. Standard HW Directions
  8. 2/6/2017 LINK for tonight's equations to balance - 11-20 with the same directions as you used for equations 1-10 that you did for today.
  9. 2/6/2017 LINK - This tutorial will help you understand how to count atoms in molecules
  10. 2/7/2017 LINK - Tyler DeWitt balancing chemical equations practice
  11. 2/7/2017 Copy equations at online link & balance 21-28 (5 pts)

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND TRY THE NEW KIND OF BALANCING WE LEARNED IN CLASS TODAY - balance polyatomic ions if they exist on both sides of the equation. Treat your ions like a single atom for your balancing purposes. When we start doing a lot of this type of equation, using this method will save you a lot of time.
Section 10.2 Classifying Chemical Reactions
  1. 2/9/2017 Classify reactions 1-14 from Wksht - Classify Eqns in as many ways as you can. Most will have at least 2 different ways to be classified. (5 pts)
  2. 2/10/2017 Classify equations 15-28 from Worksheet - Worksheet - Balancing Equations. Classify in as many ways as you can. Some may have as many as 4 classifications.
  3. 2/10/2017 Classify equations 15-28 from Worksheet - Worksheet - Balancing Equations. Classify in as many ways as you can. Some may have as many as 4 classifications.
  4. 2/16/2017 Make 16 molecules by putting each of the + ions with each of the - ions in the correct ratio. Each of your 16 molecules will have 3 different kinds of atoms.
