5.3 Electron Configurations
Ground state electron configurations, aufbau principle, Pauli Exclusion Principle ( ↑ ↓ ) , Hund’s rule, orbital diagrams and electron configuration notations, Valence electrons, Lewis, electron dot structure

    1. From your reading, describe what Rutherford's model of the atom lacked. (4 things)
    2. Describe as best you can at least two things that are characteristic of waves. For this you may need to look at pages 118 - 119.

  4. 11/7/2016 LINK - great orbital filling slider - try it. For this to work, you will have to run it in Internet Explorer. Google Chrome won't do it because of problem with Flash. Even in Internet Explorer, you will have to tell Java that the site you are going to is safe.
  5. 11/10/2016 Draw electron configurations for PEL's 6 & 7 of periodic table.
    Do only even numbered elements - 30 configurations total.
